1st time visit and food was exceptional. We arrived early and we're welcomed to our table. Service was pleasant and the staff knowledgeable. The venison stew was outstanding as were the Scallops. Wine was delicious and the ambience was really chilled out. Free Limoncello from the manageress was a lovely touch and would definitely come back if in the area. 10 out of 10. Top quality with everything.

We researched Montrose before holidaying there and stumbles across many recommendations for Rae’s, it certainly did not disappoint! It has such a relaxed vibe inside and the lovely lady who served us was very knowledgeable about everything we asked. We expected the food to be good, but wow, it was beyond our expectations entirely! You can really taste the difference with the ingredients being locally sourced, and that really took it to the next level. The oysters were 10/10 and I would return just for those alone! I Highly recommend this place, you will not be disappointed. We will definitely be holidaying in Montrose again just to visit Rae’s!

In the middle of Montrose you get better vegan Italian food than in Italy itself... I mean it, I live in Italy...!
Homemade Gnocchi with wild garlic, artichokes, and asparagus.
They have a few more vegan options for both lunch and dinner, and also vegan pudding.
Just delicious, especially eaten in bright sunshine!

We have wanted to visit here for some time and we finally managed it. Well worth the wait and the drive from Perth.
A wonderful menu with locally sourced produce. The presentation was fantastic and the taste blew me away.
Thank you for making my visit a special one.

A hidden gem of Montrose. Locally sourced ingredients and a cosy wee vibe. Food was delicious ? highly recommend the High Wine Lunch ?

One of the best meals I have ever had. Delicious food, excellent cocktails and fantastic service as well.

Hope to see it become a dining destination in the UK.

The Kitchen are also very accommodating with dietary requirements and provided excellent vegan and vegetarian options for our party.

Tried Rae’s for the first time, and we were all impressed with the quality of food and service. I started with oysters and smoked duck appetizers, and had lamb neck for my main. The oysters were incredibly fresh having very clear juice and taste of the fresh sea. The duck was very supple and lightly smoked. The lamb was exquisite, no knife needed, and the robust flavors really came through. We will certainly return!
