So glad I went through with back surgery! I feel amazing in under 4 months after Dr Vanderheiden did major back surgery. I was so scared to have the procedure done, but Dr Vanderheiden and his team made it a way better experience than I imagined. I told him my biggest fear was that I would be in pain, and no one would give me anything to relieve it. That never happened!! They made sure I was never in too much pain. Oddly enough I only took pain meds for a brief time after I got home. I highly recommend Dr Vanderheiden if you’re considering surgery. He’s the best!

I’m a grateful patient who has been suffering from debilitating back pain since 2020. After several years of injections and PT that never provided much sought after relief, I finally sought out Dr VanderHeiden. I chose him because of his reputation amongst many of the doctors and nurses I work along side. It seemed everyone who knew or worked with him had only praise! Not only for his skill as a surgeon but his bedside manner as well. From first hand experience I can attest to his incredible skill which resulted in me being free from excruciating daily nerve pain, but also to his bedside candor. My surgery was completed at OrthoColorado and the entire staff there were incredibly nice and skilled at their profession.
My post op visit with Aaron PA. was incredibly helpful! I was grateful he went over images and overall plan to get back to my previous lifestyle.
The office staff was truly incredible and amazingly patient with me during my insurance debacle. I feel indebted to the whole staff for getting me back to a life worth living!

I cannot recommend him more and will continue to refer anyone with back symptoms to him for his evaluation.

WOW! I used to worry about surgery. I was so resistant. I caved in and started seeing the Dr.'s at Panorama Orthopedics. I've now had several surgeries here and I can honestly say that coming here is the best thing ever I did! Dr. VanderHeiden performed my Anterior/Posterior Spinal Fusion and my lumbar spine hasn't felt this good in many years! My name is Carol Bennett and I am 68 years old. I may have had scoliosis most of my life but was unaware of it. It got worse in early 2023. I went to a posture clinic who said my scoliosis was severe and only surgery would fix it. My scoliosis was depressing. I struggled to reach for things and had trouble walking. I didn't want to end up in a nursing home. I was given the name of Dr. Todd Vanderheiden at Panorama Orthopedics. The first thing he said was "I will help you. I will take care of you". He was knowledgeable and reassuring. I knew I was in good hands and he was going to give me my life back.

After my preliminary tests, my surgery was scheduled to Ortho Colorado. After my surgery, I awoke in the hospital and the nurse saie "You are all done" I was so happy and on the road to recovery. I went from 5 ' 5" to 5' 7.5 inches. I was 2/1/2 inches taller and on my way to a normal life. After my hospital stay, I went to rehab for 3 weeks. Everyone who helped me with my recovery was so loving, friendly and helpful. I was so graeful to these angels.. I came home after 3 weeks and received in home PT. I live alone and have a 2 story house and made my recovery work. I have no pain and never did. After in home PT, I went to outpatient PT. Everyone along the way helped me progress safely.

At home, I am transition from the cane to using it less and less. I can see the finish line. Full recovery can be from 6 months to a year. is try

If you are afraid of surgery, I can reassure . that having surgerry will give your life back instead of living with a depressing situation. I don't have a spouse or a roommate and made the recovery work. My life is so happy and Dr. Vanderheiden is a true angel for giving my life back. The sooner you make the decision to have surgery. the sooner you wlll get back to living a happy and normal life. There is nothing to be afraid of.

He explained that while my age was a concern, my current general health still made me a good surgery canidate.He recommended I continue with physical therapy and helped me conclude I can put off back surgery until such time as the pain cannot be ignored. I cannot recommend Dr. VanderHeiden enough. After 20+ years of pain, I can finally say I’m pretty much pain free. Dr VanderHeiden performed a ALIF surgery on my L5-S1. For years I couldn’t stand for more than 5 minutes without excruciating pain. I would be brought to tears on the mornings that I wanted to get up and cook breakfast for my children, all because of the pain. I remember the nerve pain getting so excruciating that out in Public I would yelp loudly because of the sciatic nerve pain, it was humiliating. My only regret during this experience has been that I didn’t have the surgery done earlier. I’ve worked in the medical field, and I can tell you that I have never seen a surgical staff as prepared, kind and knowledgeable as him and his staff. I know a lot of people can tell you a lot of horror stories about spinal surgery and what went wrong with someone they knew, but it has dramatically changed my life for the better and that’s all because of Dr VanderHeiden. I was even lucky enough to complete the manitou incline on my birthday. Something I wanted to do for years, but knew I couldn’t because of my previous back pain. If you’re on the fence and not sure if you should book the appointment, just do it because you’ll never realize how miserable it is to be in pain all the time, until it’s finally gone.
